About NWA

The National WIC Association (NWA) is the non-profit education arm and advocacy voice of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC). More than 9 million mothers and young children participate in the WIC Program. There are about 12,200 service provider Agencies who work on the front lines of the WIC Program.

NWA is the proactive voice supporting, inspiring and empowering the WIC Community through creativity, teamwork and leadership to serve America’s low-income, nutritional at-risk women, infants and children.

Our mission is to:

  • provide leadership in promoting quality nutrition services;
  • advocate services for all eligible women, infants and children;
  • and assure sound, responsive management of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).
